October 2026 - A Busy Fall at APS
It is hard to believe that the first nine weeks of the school year have already come to an end. The year seems to be moving quickly, and our students and staff have been busy both inside and outside of the classroom.
I want to take a moment to recognize our teachers and staff. Education is not an easy job, and I appreciate the time, preparation, and effort our teachers and staff put into helping our students be successful. As I visit our school sites and classrooms, I continue to see teachers and staff working hard to build relationships and to provide our students with opportunities to learn and grow. We are very fortunate to have so many dedicated individuals at Antlers Public Schools.
Our fall activities are also keeping our students busy. Fast Pitch Softball season has wrapped up, and we are proud of our players and coaches for the work they put in throughout the season.
If you have not had a chance to watch our 4th and 5th grade basketball teams play, I encourage you to come out and support them. They play on Mondays and still have games remaining.
“The Pride of Antlers” Bearcat marching band will compete at the O.B.A. State Championships on Saturday, October 10th at Bartlesville. Several members of our high school choir also qualified to perform in the Southeast Region Honor Show Choir at Durant on October 22nd. We wish our band and choir students and their directors the best of luck and we appreciate the many hours they have put into preparing for their performances.
As the second nine weeks of the school year progresses, I am excited about what is ahead for our students and staff. I appreciate the continued support of our parents and community and look forward to another successful nine weeks at Antlers Public Schools.
It's a great day to be a Bearcat!
Jack Ward,
